Newsletter - Feb 18 2010 - Hitch Hiking to God

Dear Friends,

Last Wednesday I picked up a hitch-hiker. He was an elderly man who needed to go from Rockhampton to Mt Morgan and his car wasn’t working. Usually I don’t offer lifts to strangers because of the dangerous nature of that kind of thing – but I felt on this occasion that I should. Also, he was elderly and looked in terrible need of help.

We talked about many things, but finally I shared the gospel with him using the Ten Commandments - Ray Comfort Style. He admitted that compared with God's laws he failed miserably and was a not a good person. As I dropped him off I left him with some thoughts on how to get close to God. He listened and it was easy. Easy!!

This man was lucky his car broke down - it was his opportunity to hear the gospel. Many people are not that lucky.

Today I want to remind you of the many people who still haven't heard about Jesus and ask you to pray for them, and witness when you get the chance. These people come in two categories, firstly those who live next door to you, and those who live along way away from you.

Those who live next door to you may only hear Jesus from you. These "neighbours" also include your friends on facebook. You should pray for these people to find the "grace for salvation" - and while your at it, be mindful of how your facebook page reflects Jesus to them. Your facebook page may be the only gospel they will ever read.

Finally there are millions of people who live in other nations who have yet to hear of Jesus. There are whole nations like the Maldives, Turkey and Japan where the Christian populations effectively equal zero. The Maldives doesn't even have a single church. God needs you to pray - I'm asking you on His behalf. God is also asking some of my readers to go. And if you can't go - consider how you can help someone else to go.

Let's Live for Christ.
