Objections
When someone proposes something new, we often find many reasons NOT to do it. It is our human nature to maintain the status quo, some kind of automatic momentum of doing the same thing.
Its certainly not often we find ourselves thinking over and over why we should change, and especially not when someone else is suggesting we change.
However often once we have done what is suggested we think differently & the objections are gone. Children who thought the cover of the book looked boring now testify that “it is a great story.” Or adults who thought the meal looked ordinary now say “it tasted great.” To object or find reasons not to do something is normal - we all act that way by default.
But God proposes a great deal many changes. Let us learn a new default—a default that says yes. Let us instead look for reasons why we can do what is being suggested.
