June 17, 2005: The Show Comes to Town:
The Carnival came to Rockhampton this week and I took the kids along and we had a blast. Its been maybe 8
years since I've been to the show and so it was nice to enjoy it again. The kids had a turn on the giant slide, the jumping castles, they had rides on trains, cars, horses and the ferris wheel. (and I went on that too). Here is a picture of some of the show from the top of the Ferris Wheel. We also ate those hot dogs on sticks.........heaven knows what they are called and saw the horses perform. We saw a model railroad, the cooking contest (kids not very interested) and the chickens and pigeons (kids very interested).
There was also a man who did a snake show and had many venemous snakes. He had one particularly large python (pythons are not venemous) sitting just over his head on a pole and that certainly got the kids attention. Here is a picture of my daughter Bithiah (pronounced: Bith-ee-ar) having a horse ride.
